debt debt debt. Just like every American family out there, we have debt. We have A LOT of it. But today we've done something that not so many families get to do, we paid off a credit card, actually 3 of them, since the beginning of April.
It's a GREAT feeling. But, alas, there is ever more for us to chip away at. From student loans (i went to a private college) to the debt we accumulated when our family lived in two different states as we prepared our house to sell, to the mortgage we have on our current home, we are just filthy stinkin poor, on paper anyway.
We COULD cut up our credit cards, but what we we use in an emergency? I COULD not buy anything that isn't absolutely necessary, but that would make me a communist, i think. So I'm just going to continue on, chipping away, $1000 here, $500 there, until it's all gone.
One day, we'll be debt free.....one day.
Well, tomorrow is voting day in Nebraska. I'll be there, with kids in tow, to do my civic DUTY, will you?
Seriously, it's a no brainer. If you don't like the way the country is heading, not many people do, then CHANGE IT. Your voice matters. It really does, so use it.
If you have a hard time navigating the political rhetoric, then pick 2 or 3 issues that are important to you, find candidates that work in line with your stance on those issues and vote for them.
There are people in the world that are literally DYING for the right to vote in their country, and you're just going to sit on your ass and watch the boob tube instead? You can't be bothered to go express you views, well then, maybe the rest of us can't be bothered to let you partake in the other rights you have as a citizen, like free speech and not being being gang raped by enemy insurgents.
So, just vote guys. If you didn't register in time to vote in this primary election, then by all means, go, REGISTER, and do vote in the next election. You know, that BIG one, the presidential election.
How much can a few votes matter? Well, a few votes was all we needed to keep that inbred hillbilly Bush out of office, but again, you were too busy watching American idol and couldn't be bothered, and look at us now.
