Some kids are just monsters. Bully monsters. It's disgusting. Parents that condone it should be sodomized with a zucchini.
My child, an average sized 5 year old, plays hockey. Our hockey league sets things up as it should be, keeping kids of the same age together.
We had a tournament with another league. These fools put kids up to 12 years old on teams playing WITH and against 4,5, and 6 year olds. I watched as this behemoth of a girl, probably 10 years old on the ice with kids literally HALF her size.
So of course, she dominated the ice, made goal after goal, and was actually looking pleased with herself. And these morons where actually CHEERING for this!? She wasn't the only one, but I focus on her because she was the one I saw the most of.
First of all, and I know she's a kid, but it looks like she got shot out of an ugly cannon, hit an ugly tree, hit all the ugly branches on the way down, then rolled down a personality sucking hill into a puddle of fat ass. So maybe playing a sport in which she needs to have a helmet on all the time is a blessing to us. Personally I'm not a fan of girls playing hockey, at least my girl. But each family is different, so rock on hockey-ette. But shame on her damn parents. How in the world can they be ok with their kid playing with kids half her size and age, give the girl some credit. That can't be fun for her. She's bullying these kids, these scores can't have any satisfaction for her? Her team mates aren't able to have any fun, they are also little ones. How dumb are their parents for being OK with them playing with that monster of a kid, why didn't they speak up?
Hockey is a dangerous sport when you are playing with kids your own size, let alone playing with kids twice your size. Shameful parents not taking into account my child's safety, their own child's safety too. Idiots.

Shouldn't the league regulate that or is this not a league?

I would think that one league would have little subdivisions that could play each other, based off the same rules and criteria, i.e age or weight guidelines. For instance, like wrestling you get weighed before each match to not have a unfair advantage.I think that is something to bring up to whoever heads your hockey league for next year because you're right with such an age gap someone could get seriously hurt.

Our league regulates it for ours. We didn't know that the other league (different city) brought inappropriate aged kids until they were on the ice. At that point there wasn't much to be done. It IS against USA hockey regs (hockeys governing body) to have such an age gap.
Our head coach is looking into getting them to follow rules or ban them from playing us.
The whole thing is angering. I wanted to punch this kids mom every time she cheered for her big ass kid.

Some people have no concept of sportsmanship. But I get what your saying as an adult she should know better. I hope that Logan had a good time playing anyway

That's EXACTLY how it works in our program. It's divided up by age, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 etc then within those groups they divide into skill levels.
My son is in the second to lowest skill level within his group (mini mites) because he just stared in August and is learning. Some kids that are 5 years old like him are a few levels above because they started at age 3 and have great skills but they are still mini mites and only play against other kids their age.
Conversely there are kids on the mites (next group up) that just started this year that are at the same skill as my 5 year old but because they are 7, they are automatically on the mites but are on the lowest skill level

The OTHER team just groups people together based (I'm not sure which) on either when they started playing or on there skill level, and that's it. They don't automatically age people up to the next group.

I enjoyed your strategic use of the word "behemoth" and the phrase "sodomized with a zuccini" lol. Really though, considering the mother cheering her on I think the girl pronably does get satisfaction out of mauling small children..... this is what we get in a society where "honey boo boo" is a "darling" in the child pageant world....... I'd sy we're going to hell in a hand basket, but at this rate most of us wouldn't fit in a hand basket.... even if we all knew what that was.....
